Lowell: A Flowering City

These pages present the Flowering City Initiative and summarize the Project Anthopolis Charrette that was held from April 19-21, 1996. The Human Services Corporation sponsored an intensive two and one-half day, planning and design charrette as the first step in the Flowering City Initiative. Lowell residents from all walks of life and professional consultants worked together to create a vision for Lowell's future and begin planning for Lowell: the Flowering City.

Since then, City Manager Brian Martin appointed the Flowering City Steering Committee to bring the Flowering City vision to fruitation over the next 25 years. Please join us on May 1, 1999 at The Flowering City Forum as we prepare for the next phase of accomplishing our visionary goals.

The Flowering City Forum: A Mini Charrette is an opportunity to celebrate Lowell's successes and to create an environment that is a better place to live and to work. Join with neighbors, co-workers, and other Lowell residents for a follow-up to the Flowering City Charrette held three years ago.
